New course on making Armenian soup and patties
Central Lincoln County Adult Education is offering a new course; Armenian Soup and Patties on Wednesday night, Nov. 6.
Nothing beats a good, hearty, warming cup of soup when there is a chill in the air, unless you add red lentil patties to the menu.
In this course students will help make and eat an apricot, red lentil and carrot soup flavored with onions and cumin, a traditional Armenian favorite. The patties will be made of red lentils and bulgur, cooked to golden perfection and garnished with scallions. A materials fee of $10 is payable to the instructor at the class.
Instructor Datvik Deirkrikorian comes from Armenian ancestors and was born in Lebanon. She enjoys cooking, craft projects, floral design and working in her garden.
The course will be held at Nobleboro Central School from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost of the course is $24.
