Early November classes at Adult Ed
Boothbay Region Adult Ed has some new classes as well as some returning favorites during the first two weeks of November. If you want to learn a relaxing new hobby, take Beginner Crochet, a four session class starting on November 5. Get creative with seaglass or learn how to relieve neck and back pain. Learn to be how to be safe using the Internet and email on November 4 and 6.
In Outsmarting Back and Neck Pain, a one evening workshop on Thursday, Nov. 7, you’ll learn gentle movement sequences that will allow you to move with greater flexibility and less discomfort. These exercises are based on the Feldenkrais Method. Bring a mat and two towels to class. The time is 6 to 7 p.m., and the cost is $12.
Join Lynne (The Seaglass Lass) for a fun, creative two evening class, Seaglass as Wearable Art on November 12 and 19 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.Using seaglass and wire learn to design earrings, a pendant, or a special pin for yourself or to give as a gift. Lynne will provide the supplies, and you can also use pieces of seaglass you have collected. Please bring a pair of small needle nose pliers if you have them. The fee is $25, plus $15 paid to instructor on class night.
Do you have credit or debt issues but don’t know where to begin? In Clean Up Your Credit on November 6you’ll learn how to reduce debt, improve your credit and maintain a good credit score. Create your own step-by-step plan to pay down your debt. Learn about credit reports and how to correct errors. The time is 6 to 8 p.m., and there is no fee to attend. Please register in advance.
Are you turning 65 soon and aren’t sure how this Medicare thing works? Join Wanda Thomas, an Aging and Disabilities Resource Counselor with Spectrum Generations for I’m Turning 65. This informative workshop is on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. She will provide answer to questions about your options including Medicare and supplemental insurance. This workshop is free, however, please register in advance.
