Health for a lifetime: Fall II program session
The YMCA Fall II program session begins the week of November 4 and runs through December 21.
In response to member survey feedback, the Y is offering a plethora of evening and early morning classes for those who work during the day or whose schedules do not allow them the opportunity to make it to the Y between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
In addition, we found through the survey that while we do a fantastic job offering wellness classes targeted for the senior population, members of all ages would love a variety of higher impact class offerings. We heard and we’ve adjusted schedules and added classes just for you.
Weekly classes including Total Body Challenge class begins as early as 5:30 a.m. both on land and in the water five days per week.
Check out Zumba on Thursdays, 6-7 p.m. or Tabata, a high intensity workout designed to burn tons of calories while having fun, on Wednesdays, 5-6 p.m.
Step to the Max on Mondays, 5-6 p.m., and Cardio Step on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5-6 p.m., are also high intensity classes.
In addition to cycling classes beginning at 8 a.m., there is a Hard Core Cycling class offered Wednesdays, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. as well as a new Kettle & Pedal combo class offered 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursdays; a high intensity, low impact Cycling Intervals class on Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m. and Cycling for Life offered on Saturday mornings from 8-9 a.m.
The newest rage in fitness is TRX training and beginning November 4, we have classes starting up on Wednesdays, 6-6:45 p.m. and Thursdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m. TRX is suspension training at its best. It delivers a fast, effective total-body workout. TRX helps build a rock-solid core, increases muscular endurance and benefits people of all fitness levels (pro-athletes to seniors). Join Michael Maxim and Lauren Forgues as our TRX trainers.
You haven’t had a workout until you’ve tried our fastest growing class at the Y, Cardio Tennis. Cardio Tennis is an hour of music-filled, action-packed workout where participants are hitting balls, running, playing tennis and having fun. The best part about Cardio Tennis is you don’t need to know how to play tennis to participate. Anyone can do it! Join us on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. on the court.
Monday night Men’s Basketball is in full swing, 5:30-7:30 p.m. This pick-up league is for men ages 16 and older. Teams are picked each Monday as people arrive and there are two games going on at a time. Or, how about Adult Floor Hockey on Thursdays, 6-8 p.m.?
