Wi-Fi turns off this weekend
As I sit here writing this column I realize that this weekend is our last trip of the season and am sure it is for many of you as well. I hope to see many of you over the weekend but if not, have a safe and healthy winter and in the meantime I will do my best to keep you all informed of Ocean Point news.
Lanny Whitehouse reports that the painting of the AD cottage is finally complete and it looks great; thank you Lanny for your assistance in this successful project.
Tom McGonegal reports that Wi-Fi will officially be turned off this weekend. Many thanks Tom for all your work in maintaining the website and Wi-Fi for us; we all appreciated your time and effort.
This past weekend there were still many Ocean Pointers enjoying our last meals at the Inn. It was great to see Heidi Larkin and her sister Heather (Larkin) Brewer. Heather is involved in an interesting program regarding Pelvic Health at Lincoln Health housed at the St. Andrews Campus. If interested in learning more about her program, please call her at 207-633-1928, she would love to hear from people.
Good news from Greg May. He has just written his first book and would like to share the information with Ocean Pointers. His book is titled “Between Pricked Ears.” Here is the link for more information regarding the book. http://asiaislandic.wix.com/greg-may-author. Congratulations, Greg.
Addy and Gerry Shea were here this past weekend with a friend Jodi from the Philadelphia area (first time visitor to Maine). Addy was delighted to report that her son Joe who was recently engaged would be married next fall.
Congratulations to Joe and Annaose Kitzelman on their engagement and to Devon Demers and his fiancé, Rachael who also became recently engaged. There were also several weddings during the summer. Best wishes and congratulations to the following Ocean Pointers: Susan Ross and her husband Lucas, married in June and residing in Minnesota; China McHold and her husband Tom, married in July and residing in Maryland; Andrew Dunlap and his wife Erica who were married August 17 in Auburn Hills, Mich.; and Chris Webber and his wife Hannah who recently got married in Little Compton, R.I. Both Andrew and Erica and Chris and Hannah are residing in Birmingham, Mich., and live on the same street!
Speaking of the weekend, it was a great one if you are a Red Sox fan! Several Ocean Pointers were in attendance to cheer on the team against the Tampa Bay Rays. Friday night Michael and Susan Anderson were there to witness a romp of the Rays.
Saturday night Jay and Maureen Bennett were in attendance and report that Bob and Beckett Slayton were also there. Bob drove over 6 hours to see his beloved Sox again put away the Rays. To quote Jay, “John Lackey, Big Papi (with 2 homers) and a Koji 123 finish made it all worth the drive.” As I write this the Red Sox have claimed victory in the ALDS! Go Sox!
Due to the early deadline, the holiday news will appear in the October 24 issue. Please send me your news. Have a great week.
