It’s October and the leaves are turning color. Now is a great time to take a class at Boothbay Region Adult Ed! What about a foreign language? Take Conversational Spanish beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 16, or learn to correct those annoying computer problems in Optimizing and Troubleshooting Your Computer on October 16, 21 and 23.

Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will be conducting a Hunter Safety Course on October 17, 29, and 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. The course is three mandatory classroom sessions combined with home study. The focus is on safe firearms handling. Students will be provided with a course handbook and outdoor survival information. State law requires this course if you are applying for the first time license. The fee is $10.

Are you always searching for your photos, documents, or files on your computer and can’t find them? Then you’ll want to take Computer File Management, a one evening workshop, on Thursday, Oct. 17, 6 to 8 p.m. Learn to organize and retrieve information stored on your computer. Get rid of accumulated files and emails you no longer need so they don’t slow your computer down. The cost is $15.

Did you recently get an iPad and don’t know where to begin? iPad: Getting Started is for anyone who would like to learn more about using these devices. Understand basic iPad apps, including mail and Web browsing. Explore the world of e-books and how to share photos. Lisa Smith will share free or low cost apps that are helpful and entertaining. Ask questions and get answers. The class meets Mondays, Oct. 21 to November 25 (no class November 11) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the the fee is $45.
