Boothbay Region Middle School track teams compete in Busline League championships

The Boothbay Region Middle School track and field teams, coached by Zach Gray and John Gosselin, competed in the Busline League championships on May 24 in Belfast. The BRES boys team finished third and the girls finished fifth.

For the boys, Garrett Marshall, competed for the first time this year and was the Busline League champion in two events, the 100m and 200m. He broke his team record in the 200 with a time of 25.32. Garrett also placed third in discus and javelin.

Julian Deliso placed fourth in high jump and second in discus.

Nicholas Heaberlin was the Busline League champion in the discus, breaking his team record with a throw of 40 feet 10 inches, and he placed second in shot put.

The 4 x 400m relay team of A.J. Crocker, Elijah Smith, Ross Gaffney, and Lysander Lefevre placed seventh.

Boothbay was Busline League champions in the 4 x 100m relay team with Nicholas Heaberlin, Lysander Lefevre, Julian Deliso and Garrett Marshall.

For the girls, Olivia Rittall and Nerla Laventure placed second and third, respectively, in the 400m dash.

Tatum French placed sixth in the 55m hurdles and third in discus

Rose Campbell placed second in shot put and fourth in discus

The 4 x 400m relay team of Olivia Rittall, Nerla Laventure, Tatum French and Moriah Smith placed fifth.

Moriah Smith placed sixth in the long jump.

Zuriel Smith placed fifth in the turbo javelin.
