Civic Association’s annual July 4 event
The Boothbay Civic Association’s Fourth of July celebration on the Boothbay Common this year will provide many of the features that have made it an attraction for more than 25 years.
Joan Rittall, coordinator of the celebration, has announced that the 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. event will include the “famous” chicken barbecue, musical acts, children’s games, arts and crafts displays and more.
The Boothbay Region Community Band will officially open the event with patriotic music, including the “The Star-Spangled Banner,” followed by brief talks by people connected with the town or Civic Association.
Music played from the Common’s gazebo will be provided area musicians.
The chicken barbecue will be served around noon and will include chicken, salads, homemade pies and a beverage, all for $10. The meal usually sells out, so get in line early.
More on the “family event in a community of family” will be published soon.
