Dear Editor:

Hawke Motors is awesome.

Heading home at noon after a visit to Southport Monday, I crawled along through town with the slew heading off the peninsula, when I noticed my battery warning light come on. First thought, alternator, meaning I had little battery time left.

Wondering if I could make it home, I passed through the light and was relieved to see that Hawke's was open. Busy as you'd expect, Alan (Williams) confirmed my alternator was toast, called NAPA in Wiscasset, also the only game in town, and amazingly found a replacement for my '08 FJ, which NAPA immediately drove down.

Enjoying a great but brief chat with Steph, I was on the road again by 2:30 having paid half what I expected. Thanks to the crews at Hawke's and NAPA for working while others were playing. I, for one, am grateful.
