Christmas Eve virtual service at All Saints
The Church of All Saints by-the-Sea is pleased to post a Christmas Eve worship service on Dec. 24.. This year marks the 20th consecutive year of this very special service. Until this year, when in-person services are being replaced by virtual services, the Christmas Eve service was held in the chapel at 10 p.m. As All Saints is an uninsulated summer chapel, propane heaters warmed the building and Christmas carols were sung a cappella. Last year more than 90 people attended.
Once again this year The Reverend Christopher (Kit) Sherrill will lead the now virtual service. Visiting organist Jay Zoller, who serves the South Parish Congregational Church in Augusta, will play Christmas music and accompany soloist Margi Spratt and singers from the Y-Arts program. Members of the All Saints community will read lessons and offer prayers. The service was pre-recorded over a number of days in October before the weather turned cold.
To view the service: please go to the All Saints website (allsaintsssouthport.org) and click on SERVICES, scroll down, and select the All Saints YouTube channel. There, with other services recorded this past summer, will be the 2020 Christmas Eve service. Please tell your family and friends and join us!
