Four free throws, two each by Kaeden Davis and Hunter Crocker, in the final minute gave Boothbay Region a lead and eventual 47-44 win at Spruce Mountain in Jay Monday night, Dec. 23.

The Seahawks had trailed late in the game but battled back to improve to 6-1 on the season and are solidly in first place in Class C South. Spruce Mountain was undefeated at 6-0 and was leading Class B South coming into the game. The Phoenix missed their final two shots in an attempt to tie the game.

Crocker led Boothbay with 22 points, followed by Davis with nine.
