Thank you, bakers, for your overwhelming response. We do still need baked goods — pies, cakes, muffins, breads, etc. for the Thanksgiving Pie/Bake Sale. Buyers, your choices this year will be wonderful — your challenge will be making a decision as to what to get for that special day with family and friends. The sale is Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Remember that during that day, we will be selling a huge collection of David Winter Cottages at very reasonable prices. One stop shopping — you can buy your Thanksgiving dessert and a Christmas present or two. Please call in and let us know if you plan to bring a pie or other baked item.

To all who have given Coats For Seniors so far, we have decided to expand our reach and collect coats to be distributed through Maine Needs. Maine Needs is a central bulletin board for non-profits all over Maine. Through this site, we can work to meet the needs of all Mainers: Seniors of limited income, the homeless, and those who seek shelter in our great state. This includes men, women and children. Please do not throw good, clean winter clothing away. You can choose to give it locally by using the blue bin at the transfer station or you can throw it our way and we will see that someone who is in need receives the love from Boothbay Harbor.

During the Friday night open game night we will run a movie in the craft room. Those who want to get out and have some coffee, tea, and treats can also watch a movie with friends.

This bears repeating: during recent outages we have kept the Center open so that those without power for heat, light, internet, oxygen, or companionship can join us here. Through the winter, whenever there is the need, we will attempt to be the “Storm Home” for those who need it. We will communicate through social media as best we can but do not hesitate to call and check.

Be sure to call 633-9876 if you have questions about our programs or if you need to borrow durable medical equipment or if you need a ride to the center. We are here for you.
