After completion of a nationwide search, the Boothbay Harbor Select Board is extremely pleased to announce Julia Latter as their unanimous choice for town manager. The board will be executing a three-year agreement with Latter at its next meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

The Select Board was supported in its decision by Don Gerrish of Eaton Peabody Consulting Group to identify Latter for the job. On Tuesday, Oct. 29, Latter participated in a full-day final interview process which included a town department head engagement session and a formal final interview with the Select Board.

At a public meet and greet event the previous evening, Latter met with over a dozen Boothbay Harbor residents and other town officials, providing her insights and passion for the region. “As the interview process evolved, it became quite clear to me that Julia was the best fit for our town manager,” said Board Chair Michael Tomko. “While we were very fortunate to have many qualified applicants, Ms. Latter distinguished herself with a track record of sound financial management and passionate enthusiasm.”

“I am very grateful and honored to be selected ...,” said Latter. “I am exceedingly thankful for the residents and my colleagues for their support, and to the board for trusting me with this responsibility. I look forward to continuing to demonstrate my strong commitment and love for our community. Boothbay Harbor is a great place to visit, live and work and I will strive to make it even better for future generations.”

Working for the town for the past 22 years, Latter currently serves as acting town manager and finance officer. She will begin as town manager on Wednesday, Nov. 13 with a starting salary of $87,500.
