Dear Editor:

On Saturday, Sept. 21, a band of angels descended on my home in Boothbay — volunteers from Rebuilding Together. They were quite a diverse group — male, female, young and older. Some have lived here all their lives and others were new arrivals.

They got quickly to work — raking, tidying, scraping and painting, ripping and repairing. By the end of the day, my house had a new lease on life. Me too!

I feel so blessed and grateful to live in such a caring community where people I’d never before met gave their time, energy, and company to make my life and my home so happy.

Thank you to all those involved in the planning, the allotment of resources, and work involved resulting in such a successful day. And the volunteers — I love you all! Thank you.
