Drama Club presents Grimm one acts March 29

It's a one act sensation: The Brother’s Grimm Spectaculathon. On Friday evening, March 29, at 7 p.m. the Boothbay Region High School Drama Club will be presenting a short variety show followed by the Grimm fairy tales.
The silly show features no less than five of those fairy tales in 35 minutes, the cast members play multiple roles which adds to the fun and mayhem. The play recently tied for Second Place at the One Act Regional Festival.
A few, but certainly far from all the roles that will be portrayed are Kate Norton as Little Red visiting her Grandma (Chelsea Morton), and deals with the wolf (Josiah Purin) and gets saved by the wood cutter (Garrett Carter). Then you'll find Hansel and Gretel lost in the scary woods (Sam Schwehm and Mikayla McFetridge) who encounter the witch (Hannah Elder) in the Candy House. Rapunzel, played by Quinn Pickett (yes, Quinn Pickett!), is sold to the devil (Jared Morgan), the Enchantress (Sam Schwehm), and Rumplestiltskin (Josiah Purin), by her mother (Gretchen Elder). Snow White (Chris Dugay) has another story to tell which may or may not have to do with dwarfs, but definitely involves the Evil Stepmother’s (Ashley Poland) jealousy. The final story is Cinderella starring Garrett Carter and Krystina Nichols. Chloe Hoecker and Hannah Elder narrate the evening.
Stage manager is MacKenzie Lorrain. Principle Chair Movers (stage hands) Samantha Carter and AnnieLyn MacKusick. Lights: Jasmine Partner, John Gordon and Tommy Smith. The production was directed by teacher, Mary Miller and costumes were designed by Gretchen Elder then created by Paulette Carter and Monica Elder.
The play is a laugh a minute and the variety show will be sure to please. Come support the drama program in this fundraiser, the evening is open to the public, a $5 donation would be most appreciated.
