Haystack scholarship deadline March 1

Haystack Mountain School of Crafts is an international craft school located on the Atlantic Ocean in Deer Isle, Maine. The school offers a two-week residency program for people 21 and older, and intensive studio-based workshops in a variety of craft media including clay, glass, metals, paper, blacksmithing, weaving, woodworking, writing, and more. Programs range from short workshops to two-week sessions and anyone may participate, 18 and older, from beginners to advanced professionals.

The deadline to apply for open studio residency or a scholarship for 2019 is March 1.  The scholarship program is supported through annual fund contributions, end of session auctions, the summer gala, grants, and our a Fellowship or Scholarship endowed funds. Haystack is committed to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and as an artistic community believe in celebrating divergent points of view. One of the most effective tools we have towards supporting this mission is our scholarship program, which in 2018 brought over 120 students (recent high school and college graduates, retirees, parents, emerging artists, and more) from as near as Deer Isle to as far away as New Zealand, Iceland and Brazil.
