Oceanside of Rockland/Thomaston won the 2013 Boothbay Region YMCA Classic boys basketball tournament held at the Y March 8-10. Oceanside defeated Winthrop, 41-36, for the title. Winthrop had battled out of the losers' bracket, defeating Boothbay 8, 44-37, and Coastal 8 of Damariscotta, 47-22, to advance to the championship game of the double-elimination junior high tourney.

The Boothbay 8 team was sent to the losers' bracket after losing its first game to the eventual champion, Oceanside, 46-41, in the fourth game of the 18-game tournament. Boothbay 8 went on to easily defeat Wiscasset, Cony and Coastal 7 before getting eliminated by Winthrop.

The Boothbay 7 team lost its first game to Coastal 7, 36-34, won its second game against Medomak 7, 36-33, and got eliminated by Winthrop.

Oceanside also defeated Lewiston/Auburn, 49-29, and Coastal 8 to go undefeated (4-0) in the tournament.

Jacob Leonard of Boothbay 8 was name the tournament's most valuable player and a member of the all-tournament team. Others named to the all-tournament team were: Jeremy Holbrook, Boothbay 8; Eli Gudroe and Kyle Ames, Boothbay 7; Nate Raye, Jackson Arnsdorf and Sam Atwood, Oceanside; Bennett Brooks, Garrett Tsouprake and Jacob Hickey, Winthrop; Cody Tozier and Riley Cushing, Coastal 8.

Coastal 7 won the tournament's Team Sportsmanship trophy.
