YMCA is beneficiary of Hannaford program
The Boothbay Region YMCA, a local non-profit committed to strengthening individuals, families, and the community, has been selected as a beneficiary of the Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program for the month of June.
The Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program, launched in October 2015, is designed to support local nonprofits through the sale of the reusable Community Bags.
The Y was selected by Hannaford store leadership as the June beneficiary of the program at the Boothbay Harbor Hannaford store. For every reusable Community Bag purchased at the Boothbay Harbor Hannaford during the month of June, the Y will receive a $1 donation.
“We are thrilled to be selected for this fundraising effort, and encourage the community to support the Y through purchasing reusable shopping bags at Hannaford during June,” said Executive Director Andy Hamblett. “The funds raised during this June promotion will be used to support our work in the community around youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.”
The Y has a goal of raising $500 during June, which is equivalent to 500 community bags purchased from the Boothbay Harbor Hannaford.
