The February Eastern Dance Sport competition in Boston is a yearly event for Alina Blakesley of Boothbay Harbor. Over 400 competitors from across the country compete in dances such as cha-cha, rumba, waltz, tango and more to win ribbons and titles.

Blakesley, who brought home more ribbons, is one of 14 students ranging in age from 15 to 70, from the Swing and Sway school in Rockland owned by Christian Clayton.

"I compete in the 50s to 60s category but will be 67 in April and hope to continue well into my 70s," said Blakesley. "For me, it is part of keeping fit, eating right, and working on a skill."
