Injured motorcyclist released from hospital

The Belgrade man injured in a June 8, motorcycle-motor vehicle crash in Alna has been released from Central Maine Medical Center, a spokeswoman for the Lewiston hospital said June 16.
Carl Cooke, 55, was riding a Harley Davidson northbound on Route 218 when it crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a Ford Transit driven by Steven Frey, 59, of Newcastle, a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office press release has said. Frey and a passenger in the Transit received minor injuries, according to the June 9 release.
Cooke was not wearing a helmet; the crash left him with life-threatening injuries, according to the release.
The investigation into the accident was continuing, Sheriff’s Lt. Rand Maker said on June 16.
