The annual Leprechaun Leap at Hendricks Head Beach will be held again this year on St. Patrick’s Day, Monday, March 17 at 3:30 p.m.

The Leprechaun Leap is the original cold water swimming fundraiser in Lincoln County. The purpose is to raise money for Special Olympians.

Local celebrities Sue and Tom Witt, whose daughter Elli is a Special Olympian, will be there to greet people, and Toby LeConte, special education teacher and Special Olympics coach, will be accepting pledges in the form of cash or checks from people.

Participants are encouraged to wear some type of foot gear and are asked to be at the beach by 3:15 p.m.

Everyone is invited to participate, either by jumping into the icy seas or to pledge money for the brave souls who do.
