Winter parking ban now in effect
As of Friday, Nov. 15, the winter parking ban in Boothbay Harbor is in effect. Parking between the hours of 2 and 6 a.m. on the street is prohibited. Parking along public ways is also prohibited during snow removal, no matter the time.
This ban is both to allow plow and sand truck free access to the streets to keep them safe for drivers, and also to prevent damage to vehicles. It is important to keep the street clear during the night hours because even if it is not snowing, cold weather can create icy conditions and sand trucks will be out making the roads safe.
Public parking lots, such as the one by the footbridge, are available for nighttime parking. If you have any questions regarding the winter parking ban, call the Boothbay Harbor Police Department at 207-633-2451.
