A funeral procession for Emery “Rip” Jordan stopped traffic in Boothbay Harbor at 11:15 a.m. on November 4. Jordan was a retired captain for the Maine State Police and a resident of East Boothbay.
Boothbay Harbor Police Chief Bob Hasch and officer Scott Mercier stopped traffic and saluted the procession as it made its way from the Meadow Mall intersection to Evergreen Cemetery in Boothbay.
Jordan retired in 1972 as the director of the Maine State Bureau of Identification, and was well known for his expertise in ballistics and criminology. He enjoyed restoring antique cars, gardening and spending time with his family.
“He was a good fella too,” Hasch said.
