On Sunday, Oct. 20, shuck on over to Mine Oyster for the final day of Oysterfest 2013. Enjoy $1 each on Glidden Point Oysters all day, along with live music, drink specials, oyster shucking contests and more.
There are a few interesting options on Tuesday, Oct. 22. At the Harbor Theatre at 6 p.m., owner Jason Sheckley will screen the classic “Casablanca” as a tribute to the late Phil “The Baker” McLellan. This free event includes homemade desserts, coffee and popcorn.
Alternatively, if you’d like to learn how you can save money and decrease your use of electricity, make sure to attend a public meeting on solar incentives, which are now available to residents of the peninsula. That’s from 6-8 p.m. at the Boothbay town office.
On Thursday, Oct. 24, join in with the Walkability Steering committee for a free workshop catered by McSeagull’s. The group aims to come up with Boothbay’s “brand.” Register at www.friendsmidcoast.org/registerboothbay.htm/.
