A driver underestimated the proximity of his truck to the sign outside Janson's Clothing Store on Commercial Street the morning of June 5.

Betty Jeanne Maddocks, proprietor, said the sign had been nicked by trucks before; this was the first time the bottom of the sign, just under the “s” was almost completely disengaged.

Maddocks said she recently had the sign redone, the upper portion by Mitch S. Billis in Montana. Local business owner Korey Lewis came by to help remove the bottom half of the sign and the truck departed.
