Boothbay town meeting May 6
Boothbay residents will vote at the annual town meeting on Monday, May 6. The polls will open between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Boothbay Town Office to vote on the Articles 2, 3 and 4 in the town meeting warrant.
In Article 2, voters will choose from a list of five candidates who are all running unopposed for three-year terms. The incumbents running are Charles Cunningham for town selectman, Kevin Anthony for the Community School District board of trustees, and Stanley Lewis for the local cemetery district. The new candidates running for office are Jon Lewis for the Boothbay Region Water District, and Bill Bailey for the school committee.
In Article 3, voters will choose “to see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $167,808 for ambulance service,” and on Article 4, voters will vote yes or no on “supporting the maintenance of a 'Critical Access Hospital' at St. Andrews Hospital.”
After the secret ballot closes, voting for or against the remaining town warrant articles will take place at the Boothbay Town Hall at the Railway Village starting at 7:30 p.m.
