Gregory Wing veterans get quilts from Kwiltz 4 Kidz

One dozen handmade patriotic quilts made by members of the local Kwiltz 4 Kidz group, were delivered to the St. Andrews Village Gregory Wing in Boothbay Harbor Thursday, Dec. 12.
Making the presentation were Kwiltz members Karen Keyes, Colleen Gaffey, Martha Barker and Cindy Goodwin. Accepting the quilts on behalf of the veterans was American Legion Post 36 member Dick Roy. Gregory Wing Activities Director Jerie Phinney welcomed the quilters and thanked them for their generous gift.
Keyes said she and her husband, Jeff Keyes, a member of American Legion Post 36, got talking recently about veterans at the Gregory Wing and came up with the idea to donate quilts to them.
Kwiltz 4 Kidz was established in 2008 and members have made and donated hundreds of quilts as gifts of compassion to various organizations and groups.
