Y's annual dinner meeting April 7
The Boothbay Region YMCA's annual members dinner meeting is Tuesday, April 7.
"This year’s benefit statement is 'Pay It Forward,' a theme that will carry us throughout the year,” YMCA Executive Director Andy Hamblett said. "The theme highlights that the Y is more than a place, and as a member shared with me recently, ‘The Y is about so much more than physical wellness. It’s about a safe place to belong. No judgments. Doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, fat or skinny, pretty or ugly, old or young, a Republican or a Democrat, Christian or atheist. No matter what you are, you are accepted, respected and treated with kindness. Your wellness matters, both physical and mental, and all who represent the Y are there to help you find the best version of yourself, everyday that you are willing to put in the effort to look for it’.”
The social gathering will begin at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The dinner, prepared by caterer Laura Francis and helpers, will include a mixed green salad with dressing, a choice of mixed cheese lasagna or a haddock fillet with a lemon parsley cream sauce, carrots and green bean medley, rolls and butter, and a layered cake for dessert.
Y-Arts youth will provide entertainment during the event.
"Help us share the Y’s stories and fill a table with friends and community leaders," Hamblett said. "The annual Dinner Meeting is an evening of celebration and recognition. It will be an evening of change and an opportunity to say thank you to our retiring board members and welcome new faces. As always, we will recognize our volunteers, the backbone of the Y, our staff and other distinguished awards."
Please register at the front desk by April 1 so the Y can have a head count for the caterer.
