What a long, strange trip it's been
The final school days are passing by for the members of the class of 2013 at Boothbay Region High School.
On Friday, June 7, 54 classmates will gather at 8 a.m. in the school gym to reminisce and poke fun at each other during the annual Class Day ceremony.
At 2 p.m., graduation exercises will commence. The annual Grand March and Alumni Ball will begin at 8 p.m. At around 10 p.m., the class will get together for one more function: the Project Graduation trip to go whitewater rafting.
Before that eventful day, there are a few other community events the class members will participate in.
On Thursday, May 30 at 6:15 p.m., the class will be honored at the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club. Rotary scholarships will be announced at the dinner.
On Sunday, June 2 at 2 p.m., local clergy will host the annual Baccalaureate program at the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor. Class members participate in the program with music and readings.
Area Masons will hold their annual senior class cookout on Tuesday, June 4 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, June 6 will be the last day of practice for the Graduation Procession and Grand March, following the teachers' awards at 8 a.m. At 7 p.m., the seniors and underclassmen will be presented with scholarships, academic and book awards during the annual Awards Night ceremony.
Just another busy graduation week for the region's high school seniors.
