Welch voted president-elect of the Maine Principal's Association
Boothbay Region High School Principal Dan Welch has just been voted president-elect of the Maine Principal’s Association for the 2015-2016 school year.
Welch was nominated for the position at the latest Board of Directors meeting of the MPA, held on May 27. After being approved by a quorum of principals via an email vote, the position became official.
“I really value the MPA and the resources they provide, not just to principals but to all educators,” Welch said. “'I care a lot about the organization.”
The MPA will hold its next meeting in August. In the meantime, Welch is looking forward to planning the next year along with the newly elected president of the MPA, Marty Bouchard, Principal of Houlton Jr./Sr. High School. Bouchard served last year as president-elect.
“We'll be getting together over the summer to plan the next year,” Welch said
The Maine Principal’s Association oversees almost every K-12 school in Maine, with only a few private schools choosing not to participate.
