Walkability steering committee seeks design, marketing services
The Boothbay Peninsula Vision and Values Steering Committee invites all design and marketing professions to respond to a Request for Proposal (or RFP) for a regional branding project.
This project evolved out of the Walkability Audit conducted in Boothbay Harbor in October 2012. The committee is now involved in development to create better wayfinding to activities, organizations, places of interest and natural features on the peninsula.
As a first step, a Peninsula Visioning and Values Workshop was conducted to hone in on the core values of the region. A follow-up online survey is currently being conducted to further elaborate on the community and regional values. Please visit www.surveymonkey.com/s/BoothbayPeninsulaSurvey to fill out the survey.
The goal of this project is to develop a brand consisting of a tag line, image and/or logo that best represents a meaningful message or a statement of truth to the entire region. The goal is to enhance the economic development opportunities and wayfinding for residents, businesses and visitors.
The Steering Committee will work with the designer during the brand's development process, and then test the designs in the community. One complete, they will roll out the logo with graphic standards and brand tools for community use.
Copies of the RFP are available at the Boothbay Harbor Town office. Interested persons can also email questions directly to Michael Tomko at boothbayvision@gmail.com no later than December 27. Answers will be provided to all who request information.
