Village residents celebrate first ride on new bus

St. Andrews Village Village residents waved flags in celebration of their first ride on a vehicle that symbolizes their connection to the community they love.
Phinney said the bus is used for field trips to the Boothbay area and beyond. “It is so good for them to get out and be able to smell the ocean, see a parade or get an ice cream cone,” Phinney said. She said the trips also have a therapeutic effect because they give residents something to look forward to.
The new bus has more space for wheelchairs, better lighting and an additional grab bar for ambulatory residents.
