Two new artists join Boothbay Region Art Foundation
Diane Langley makes her home on Westport Island but she has painted from Lubec to the prairie grassland in Lake Forest, Ill. Her painting adventures have also taken her across the Atlantic Ocean.
For the month of June, Langley will offer a plein air workshop every Thursday morning through the Boothbay Region Art Foundation. The class will explore the landscape to find what gives us our connection to place. This workshop is for artists comfortable with oils. Personal experience is necessary.
Please call Virginia Forrest for more information at 207-882-7165. During gallery hours, call June Rose at 207-633-2703 at the Art Foundation. The gallery is located at 1 Townsend Ave., in Boothbay Harbor.
Nettie Locke Rogers is another creative force who has recently settled in the Boothbay Harbor area. She works in ceramics, paper cutting and sculpture. She is also accomplished in drawing. She has taught art to adults and children in Maine, New Mexico and Nebraska. You may view her work at her website (www.nettielockerogersfineart.com).
Rogers will be offering classes in paper cutting at the Art Foundation starting on June 3 from 9 a.m. to noon on Mondays and Wednesdays. There will be eight classes in this session.
