Substance abuse and mental health treatment funds available
The Boothbay Region Community Resources (BRCR) has grant funds available to pay for mental health and/or substance abuse treatment services for people who live people in Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Southport and Edgecomb. This funding source is in place for anyone in need of behavioral health services when funding is the identified barrier to actively engage in a treatment program. We work with existing mental health and substance abuse agencies and providers in a community collaborative model that improves access to behavioral healthcare.
People in our community who live with mental illness and/or substance abuse/addiction are highly vulnerable and face significant challenges. This program allows us to improve access to treatment through the provision of payment for services. We can use these funds to assist with limited period payments, to help with commercial insurance deductibles, or provide co-payments for people with partial insurance coverage. We will also assist with the cost of transportation to get to treatment or address other barriers that exist. We will assist with medications, if no other funding exists, and commit to work collaboratively within the existing service systems to coordinate behavioral health care for people in need.
If you are a person in need of or wants to talk further about your behavioral health needs, please contact Amy Winston, the BRCR Community Navigator. Amy provides case management to local people in need of assistance and can assist you in identifying the types of treatment services you need. You can reach Amy at 207-350-6272.
Boothbay Region Community Resources would like to thank the John T. Gorman Foundation and the Elizabeth Anne Leach Charitable Trust for their generous support of the BRCR behavioral health initiative.
