Southport will hold its annual town meeting on Monday, March 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the Southport Town Hall. Voting will begin at 10 a.m. The moderator will be Kit Sherrill.

All candidates up for election are incumbents. These include:

• Selectman, Assessor & Overseer of the Poor for a three year term: Gerald L. Gamage
• School Committee Member for a three year term: Jane Mulholland
• Treasurer for a three year term: Anita Sherman
• Boothbay Region Water District Trustee for a three year term: Smith S. Climo

Among topics up for discussion will be an amendment to the land use ordinance, as proposed by the planning board. The proposal, which is in regards to geothermal heat exchange wells, is posted in its entirety at the town office.

Also up for discussion will be what sum the town will approve for the public works department. According to Selectman Mary Lou Koskela, the sum proposed by the budget committee is especially high due to the need for road repairs.
