Boothbay Harbor Fire Department responded to calls about smoke at Oceanside Golf Resort, Atlantic Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8. Fire Chief Nick Upham said Wednesday that a fire under the deck, started by a faulty junction box, was mostly extinguished by the time firefighters were on scene. 

“We pulled some of the boards up to make sure any embers were out,” said Upham. “There was minimal damage.”
