Selectmen make municipal appointments
The Boothbay Board of Selectmen unanimously approved the following fiscal year 2016 appointments last month: Daniel Bryer Jr., town manager, tax collector, road commissioner, welfare director, health officer and treasurer; John E. O’Donnell, III, assessor; William D. Kautzmann, addressing officer; Mary E. Pratt, animal control officer; Lori D. Colton, Arthur C. Dunlap and Daniel Bryer Jr., code enforcement officers and licensed plumbing inspectors; Richard R. Spofford; fire chief; Peter Ripley; harbor master; and Michael S. Alley, highway foreman; Bonnie Lewis, town clerk; and Daniel Bryer Jr., were appointed as right-to-know officers.
The selectmen voted 4-0, with Chuck Cunningham abstaining, for comprehensive plan committee members: Nicholas Barth, Rosemary Bourette, Chuck Cunningham, David A. Dudley, Charles E. Fuller, P. Andrew Hamblett, Richard E. Palmer, Nell Tharpe and Nathaniel Wing.
All of these appointments are for one year.
The selectmen voted 3-0 to appoint Cunningham to a three-year term as the town’s representative to the Boothbay Region Refuse Disposal District. Cunningham and Selectman Steve Lewis abstained.
The selectmen voted unanimously for the following three-year appointments: James A. Tonon, board of appeals, David D. Steinmetz and Martin H. Page, board of appeals alternates; Bernard B. MacPhee, board of assessment review; and Alan R. Bellows and Michael E. Tomacelli, planning board; Lee W. Court and Charles R. Fuller, port committee.
The selectmen also approved the following assistants and deputies nominated by the various department heads: Lori D. Colton, addressing officer assistant; David L. Pratt, deputy animal control officer; Gary N. Arsenault and John R. Barry, assistant fire chiefs; Michael Leighton and Bradley Simmons, assistant harbor masters; Tracey Hodgon Hyson and Tammy L. Mayo, as deputy town clerks.
These positions are one-year appointments.
