Round two for 'Kick Start Maine' contestant Angelique Perkins
UPDATE: Angelique Perkins won the semifinal round of "Kick Start Maine" in dramatic, come-from-behind fashion on Thursday night, June 6. Be sure to tune in this weekend -- schedule below -- to see how she pulled off the victory! Now it's on to the finals for the Boothbay Region High School eighth grader! Congratulations!
Boothbay Region Elementary School eighth grader Angelique Perkins will appear as a contestant in the semifinals of the TV game show, “Kick Start Maine,” which airs this weekend on WPXT (Time Warner channel 12) beginning Thursday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m.
In April, Perkins and fellow BRES eighth graders Carter Babcock and Anna Sirois competed against each other on the show. Perkins, the daughter of Tom and Laura Perkins of Boothbay Harbor, came away the winner.
In the semifinals, Perkins competed against Ravi from Yarmouth Middle School and Esme from Hope Elementary School. As contestants are sworn to secrecy against revealing the outcome, Perkins was not able to tell us how the episode turned out. However, her father said the game “was one of the closest matches the show has ever had.”
Anna Sirois recites the show's opening pledge and another BRES classmate, Emma Rideout, will handle the closing duties on this episode. Both Anna and Emma also received the requisite pies in the face on camera shortly after completing their duties.
Additional airings will be Friday at 10 a.m., Saturday at 6:30 a.m., noon, and 5:30 p.m., Sunday at 7 p.m., and Monday at 5 p.m. Additional info about the show and a link to a 3-part video of Angelique's qualifying victory in the all-Boothbay episode (Season 4, Episode 1) can be found at www.kickstartgame.com/.
