The Rev. Tom Kerr will lead the service at the Wilson Memorial Chapel on Ocean Point on Sunday, Aug. 30. The service begins at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Kerr graduated from California State University in 1970 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. After traveling with the Continental Singers, he spent a year involved in mission work in Barbados. He then served for three years as minister of youth and Christian education in Maitland, Florida.

After completing his master of divinity at Candler School of Theology, Emory University, Kerr served eight years in the Florida Conference before transferring to the North Georgia Conference until his retirement in 2009.

He and his wife, Sara, now spend part of the year in Clarkesville, Georgia, and part of the year in East Boothbay where they have shared a home since 2000. The Kerrs have a daughter and son-in-law who live in Scottsdale, Arizona, and a son, daughter-in-law and two granddaughters who live in Dayton, Ohio.
