Local volunteers remove weeds from roundabout
Local volunteers wanted to make a positive change in the roundabout’s appearance, and that’s exactly what they did on Aug. 3. Volunteers Julie Roberts, Becky Barter and Patty Minerich arrived at the roundabout shortly after 11:30 a.m. and pulled weeds from surrounding flower beds.
All three are all members of the local group People for a Positive Change. They were looking for a community project and decided improving the roundabout’s look was a good start.
“Patty called and said the roundabout is looking a little ‘weedie’ and we should do something. It sounded like fun so here we are,” Roberts said.
The volunteers hope more people join their effort as they plan weeding on a monthly basis or by participating in another community improvement project.
