Ice storm outages, weather update
Instead of a white Christmas, many Mainers could be facing a black one.
Central Maine Power reports at 12:19 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24 that approximately 86,000 customers across the state are still without power following the weekend ice storm.
In Lincoln County 7,448 customers were still without power Tuesday afternoon.
Most outages were reported in inland Lincoln County with Jefferson (1,596 homes without power), Whitefield (1,209) and Nobleboro (1,188) the hardest hit. There were no reported outages in Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor or Southport.
Wiscasset had 550 outages as of Tuesday afternoon with 120 outages reported along Gardiner Road and more than 40 outages each on Old Bath Road and West Alna Road.
In Newcastle there were 383 outages with most outages (39) concentrated on River Road, North Newcastle Road (37) and Bunker Hill Road (28).
Bristol (49), Damariscotta (15) and Edgecomb (two) were almost completely back online as of Tuesday afternoon.
Kennebec County was still the hardest hit from the storm with more than 38,000 customers still without power Tuesday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service website, “a cold front will cross the region this afternoon, ushering in arctic high pressure for the mid-week holiday period.”
“A weak clipper system will pass north of the area on Thursday and may produce a light snowfall across the region. High pressure will build back in on Friday and for the weekend,” the report states.
