Historical Society annual fall cheese and treats sale
On Saturday, Oct. 12, you will have an opportunity to purchase Grafton Village two-year-aged cheddar cheese in one pound ($14) and half pound ($8) packages. There is nothing comparable to Vermont cheddar, and Grafton’s flagship cheese is at the top of that list.
But that is not all! You can also purchase some delightful tea, either Heritage black or herbal, to accompany your cheese. Oh, and there’s more still.
The cheese will be for sale from 9 a.m. until sold out at Boothbay Railway Village (586 Wiscasset Rd., Boothbay) and at the museum (72 Oak St., Boothbay Harbor). At both venues, you can buy a chance (or six) to win a fabulous two-hour ride through the region aboard Charlie Bamberg’s shiny red 1959 pumper engine fire truck next summer with up to seven folks of your choosing. Don’t dawdle, though, as the winner will be drawn at the museum at 3 p.m. on the 12th.
At the museum, in addition to the Grafton Village cheddar cheese, you will find pies, cakes, cookies, and so much more for sale. See you there. And, don’t forget, raffle drawing at 3 p.m. at the museum.
Our wonder-filled Boothbay Region Historical Society is open to the public year round from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday-Saturday. All proceeds from this sale go directly to benefit the BRHS mission to promote interest in the history of the Boothbay region and to preserve that history for future generations to enjoy. For more information, contact the museum at 633-0820, by email at brhs@gwi.net, or visit our website: www.boothbayhistorical.org
