First National supports Boothbay Region Land Trust

First National Bank recently donated $7,500 to the Boothbay Region Land Trust towards the Oak Point Farm capital campaign as part of a three-year contribution totaling $25,000.
Boothbay Region Land Trust’s newest 32-acre preserve at Oak Point Farm, located on Hodgdon Cove, is the last remaining saltwater farm in Boothbay Harbor. This unique property offers a 2-acre freshwater pond, fields, woods and waterfront as well as an 1800s farmhouse, which serves as a visitor center, nature center and event space. Oak Point Farm offers year-round activities including 1.5 miles of accessible trails, benches and picnic tables, a deep water dock with three moorings, a kayak launch as well as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and sledding trails in the winter.
“Everyone, regardless of age or physical ability, should have the opportunity to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Boothbay region,” the land trust website emphasizes. “Public access to open lands and waterfront are what make our peninsula so special.”
