First baby at LincolnHealth arrives January 2
The first baby born at LincolnHealth in Damariscotta in the new year arrived January 2, dodging an ice storm, a blizzard and arctic temperatures.
Katie Tremblay and Diano Circo welcomed daughter, Wren, the couple’s second child, at 3:40 p.m., following a short labor.
Circo said Wren showed good timing by arriving during a lull in a week of wintry weather. After she was born, he was able to get home in time to read big brother Nolan, 4, his bedtime stories.
Tremblay and Circo live in Hallowell, but chose LincolnHealth because Tremblay likes the personal care and support she experienced with the Lincoln Medical Partners Midwives at the Women’s Center on the Miles Campus of LincolnHealth. Tremblay also had Nolan on the Miles Campus with a Women’s Center midwife.
Nurse-Midwife Cynthia Dublin-Morin is Tremblay’s midwife. Dublin-Morin has office hours at Lincoln Medical Partners Family Medicine Wiscasset, which is more convenient for patients like Tremblay, who works in Hallowell.
“It is very personal, they make you feel very well cared for,” said Tremblay, who also chose a water birth, because she felt it took some of the pain out of delivery.
