Santa Maria was Christopher Columbus’s flagship during his 1492 voyage to find a western route from Spain to Asia. On Oct. 12, 1492, he made landfall in the Americas on an island in the Bahamas.  Nao Santa Maria is a replica of Christopher Columbus’ flagship.
