East Boothbay man pleads not guilty to fugitive charge
On Wednesday, June 10, Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies received a teletype from a police department in Michigan stating that a local man had a warrant for his arrest and was considered a fugitive.
That same day, Sheriff's Sgt. Daniel Sceviour confirmed with the Michigan State Police that Brian Donovan, 43, of East Boothbay was a fugitive from justice and wanted for extradition to Michigan.
Donovan was arrested at 9 p.m. in East Boothbay the same day and charged with Class C fugitive from justice.
According to the complaint filed at Lincoln County Court House, Donovan is wanted for extradition back to Michigan for felony failure to pay child support. Donovan is being held at Two Bridges Regional Jail on $10,000 cash bail with a court date set for July 13. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Class C crimes are felonies and are punishable by up to five years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
