Private first class (E-3) Taylor Pare arrived in Kuwait March 16 for a one-year deployment. She completed 12 weeks of basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri followed by six weeks of advanced individual training at Ft. Eustis, Virginia as an MOS watercraft operator.

Prior to joining the U.S. Army, Pare graduated from Mt. Ararat High School and attended Central Maine Community College. She joined the Army in October 2014.

She is the daughter of Bob and Stacy King of Bowdoinham and Marc Pare of Gardiner. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Brewer of Boothbay Harbor, Peggy Pare of Bath and the late Jackie Shorette of Bath.
