Boothbay Harbor Selectmen
Denise Griffin takes vice chairman’s seat
Tue, 01/14/2014 - 5:30pm
At the January 13 Boothbay Harbor Selectmen's meeting, Chairman Bill Hamblen called for nominations for a new vice chairman to replace resigned member Robert Splaine.
Selectmen nominated and unanimously appointed Denise Griffin for the position.
The selectmen decided they would wait until the regular elections in May to fill the fifth spot on the board, as an additional election would be costly the town and taxpayers.
Griffin and Selectman Jay D. Warren will both be completing their terms in May. They have not said yet whether they will seek reelection.
During the public forum, local resident Frank Fassett lamented the loss of Splaine from the board.
