During Stewardship Season, Pastor Todd Weir invites you to explore different ways to be rooted in God’s love. In the next weeks the Stewardship Preaching Series, Rooted in Love, will cover a section in Mark’s Gospel where the disciples are challenged to love more deeply. Pastor Todd invites you to read and reflect on the scriptures ahead of time.
This Sunday is All Saints Sunday where we remember all the faithful people who have gone before us, who have left us a legacy of faith and making God’s love and justice real. We will take some time during the Sunday service to ring chimes for people who have died since the beginning of COVID.
Pastor Weir will offer his sermon titled, “The Power of Offering Small Things With Great Love,” exploring Mark 12:38-44. We often feel like what we have to offer is so small compared to what the world needs. Jesus took time to notice a poor widow who gave her last two cents. He told his disciples this was the greatest gift. When we offer what we have with great love, God uses what we give to transform the world. What small thing are you called to share with great love this week?
Join the church Bible Study on Zoom that will explore the scriptures of this five-week worship series Mondays at 11 a.m. You call the church at (207) 633-4757 for more information.
Send prayer joys and concerns Heather Lorrain at admin@congochurchbbh.org; Note if you would like to have your prayer shared on Sunday during worship.
