Carousel Theater hosts wellness foundation fundraiser
As the Boothbay Region Health & Wellness Foundation enters its third year of service to year-round and seasonal residents on the Boothbay peninsula, the group was looking for a way to attract local residents, seasonal residents, and visitors to enjoy a lively evening of music, laughter, and camaraderie.
Robb Barnard and Paulette Carter of the Carousel Music Theater graciously agreed to dedicate an evening performance to the Wellness Foundation and to donate a portion of the proceeds from each ticket as a charitable contribution.
So, on Sunday, Aug. 9 at 6:30 p.m., we’ll gather to enjoy supper, cabaret, and a stage show: “Where have all the Hippies gone?” In and around the singing and dancing, we’ll also have both a silent Auction and a live Auction, with Robb Barnard acting as auctioneer extraordinaire. Auction items include generous donations of gift certificates and items and services from local businesses, paintings, and unique collectibles.
Proceeds from the evening’s festivities will benefit the Boothbay Region Health & Wellness Foundation, a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to improve the health and wellness of all year-round residents, seasonal residents, and visitors to the Boothbay peninsula. The proceeds will be used to fund the Foundation’s current initiatives: 1) a new Senior Community Center; 2) the Awesome Seniors People Helping People program which coordinates transportation, companionship, and other services for seniors and disabled folks, and 3) helping to get the Boothbay Region Health Center up and running.
The price of $39.95 per person covers soup, sandwich, coffee, dessert, the Cabaret and the Stage show, and includes a generous donation to the Wellness Foundation. Call 207-633-5297 for reservations, and mention the Wellness Foundation fundraiser.
