BRHS class of 1975 holds 40th reunion
Twenty-eight members of the Boothbay Region High School class of 1975, their spouses and some guests gathered for their 40th year reunion at Robinson's Wharf on Southport for four hours on Saturday, Aug. 22.
Besides catching up on family news, enjoying dinner and drinks, another highlight of the reunion was the dancing and singing to The Murky Water Band's music. Garry Blackman Sr. of Boothbay, a member of the class, is a member of the band.
Several classmates who couldn't make the 35th year reunion were welcomed to this reunion with hugs, handshakes and smiles, including Vicki Rule Hall, Mark Lorrain, Cheryl Paine Lorrain, Kara Niemi, Becky Beane Smith, Charles "Chuck" Stevens, Kathleen Pinkham Hallinan, Ann Robinson Goggin, Jody Murray and Sarah Logan Wilcox. Other classmates in attendance included Kevin Burnham, Wendy Warren Wood, Trish Nason Fallon, Bruce Graham, Diane Lozier Reed, Kathy Sherman Blagdon, Liz Harriman, Cathy Farnham Landry, Brenda Peaslee Blackman, Marie Orchard Kelly, Jaime Savory Mansfield, Jay Andrews, Dick Perkins, Bill Landry, Ann Thompson Maher, Laurie Thibodeau and Alan Miller.
Wendy Warren Wood constructed a display board of class photos from the 1975 Log, including a memorial display of the class members who have died. She also supplied the runners and flower arrangements for the tables. Marie Orchard Kelly baked a huge blueberry cake for dessert and Vicki Rule Hall bought some "gag" gifts for the winners of the class demographics questions.
It was great time had by all.
The class of 1975 is one of the largest classes ever to enter and graduate from BRHS. Ninety-three classmates entered the halls of the school in 1971 and 75 graduated.
The six members of the class who have died include Steve Arsenault, Alan Barter, Mark Brewer, Wayne Brewer, Jamie Hodgdon and Minnie Swett.
